This was such a fun project to work on! We started with the bare bones of a basement (no walls, no ceiling) and this beige sectional sofa and from there we created this lovely and inviting basement living space.
No minor detail was overlooked here. The space had to be sophisticated enough for adult entertaining but also practical for 3 kids. The back wall has plenty of built in storage which goes almost unnoticed with the subtle high gloss white cabinets from floor to ceiling. All of the windows have beautiful custom sheers with hidden blackouts for movie night. All of the pot lighting was carefully planned out to create any mood in the space. The modern bean bag chair was a fun addition. The carpet was perfect for the colour scheme and for practicality, because of its design, it is extremely kid friendly.
I accented the ceiling inlay with a dark taupe in order to give the space a more cozy feel. The accent wall is done with a beautiful high gloss tile, a large wall mounted TV and fireplace and hidden storage on the side for wire management and to hide all of the kids gaming consoles.
The space really came together with the final addition of the unique solid wood coffee table. We purchased four of these natural solid wood side tables to create a large coffee table, durable enough for three young kids! The bonus - the tables can be easily separated and moved around the space for extra seating.
